‘Do you think I should pass you to qualify in this doctorate program in counseling psychology?’
I was asked this question in the final interview.

This is what I answered,
‘I can think of answers to the both ‘yes and no’ scenarios.
Technically I have fulfilled all the black and white academic and clinical criteria.
But in a deeper sense, being qualified is not just about me demonstrating my competence,
but it’s an opening door for me to do more good.
I can work towards becoming a better psychologist.
So yes I think I deserve to pass.’

Qualification is just an entry ticket for one to enter the career and the bigger institutional system.
It leads one to the longer uphill road.
It is just the end of the beginning.
